Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been won on hardcourt

A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his initial title for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.

The athlete, a ex- number one, has had a challenging period, winning just one match at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.

His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in specific - caused him falling of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with former coach Cervara.

Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought three-set triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's initial title following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface from that period of the previous year.

Success also indicates Medvedev has secured twenty-one victories at twenty-one different competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a trophy is really nice," said tennis professional the champion.

"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his last six title deciders, including in Halle earlier this year.

Medvedev's defensive approach and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had caused commentators to wonder if his ability to play at the top level was concluded.

However the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and perform aggressively, supported by an enhanced serving game.

Medvedev fought back from a break down in the initial set against the difficult opponent, taking 4 of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.

The competitors traded breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden ATP Tour title, gained dominance to create a final set.

Moutet defended four early-game chances in a tight third set before the champion secured a break to that score to close out the victory.

Suitably, Medvedev earned the title with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman unable to control a return after a lengthy match.
